Well was given a new computer and tried to install the above program. Managed to reinstall and get working the Webshotsdesktopsetup.exe. Now the pics are in JPEG and you to save forever so you'll have to remove the ones that start with TH#. Half are the actual photos the other half are thumbnails the desktop uses. It will look like this WEBSHOTS DATA\ALBUM-1#\PH#. now the window is populated with the files the desktop program uses. click the button "+FOLDER" find your webshots in the navigation window the click OK (you'll have to do this each time you add a folder). when in the batch conversion window put a check in the box for "same folder as the original". When in the program, click Conversion > Batch conversion. The conversion is time consuming but worth it cause the webshots program wont last forever but jpeg's will. (from American Greetings, previous owner).ġ- Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Services then disable AGCore service.Ģ - Delete C:\Programs Files\AGCore and all subfolders.Īnd for those that still have webshots but want to keep your photos, Google search "ULTIMATE WEBSHOTS CONVERTER". You should now be good and have it uninstalled and you can reinstall the old Webshots software, but you can't get it from Smile/Webshots. Smile put some files in the prefetch files, so that's why the repetition. as smile put in some files called 'webshots supplant'.delete them.reboot and repeat. Then, try to remove it using Add/Remove programs.and then do a search for all files or folders that have 'smile' or 'webshots' in it.
Either close it from the task notification area, or, stop all processes that have either 'smile' or 'webshots' in them. jpg files in it and copy and save that somewhere else. Search your C: for 'webshots data' it's there If you don't find it here, it may mean you chose during original setup to put it somewhere else. Look under the C:\My Documents\webshots data.

I have a LOT of old photos on paper, need to sort and date them.If you're using Webshots Desktop offline, you can still use it.įirst, of course, you need to remove Smile. No loss of quality moving the photos around. You might also just buy new camera cards when one is filled. New big storage on them for less money all the time. I am saving my photos on Flash Drives/memory sticks, for backups, in case my computer croaks. 1, when I couldn’t access Webshots at all. I got my stuff downloaded before the closing date of Dec. Webshots gave warning in it’s site, but didn’t send emails to users. I am sorry your photos also ended up so badly, and you had a LOT more than I did. I opened a Photobucket account, am starting over there. I didn’t have too many, but still it won’t let you make Albums to sort stuff into.
I was pretty unhappy myself when I downloaded my Webshots to Smile, then got a big mess of photos on the same page.
